Well I have come across this amazing website FLYlady. It helps disorganized or clueless beings like myself get better organized around the house so you have peace of mind. Especially if you have kids you need all the pieces of mind you can find being that you lost most of them during pregnancy. The sleepless nights of infancy and the head banging teen years(<-I'm not here yet).
I have embarked as of the 15th on my Flying lessons. I am officially a flybaby and am taking baby steps to control. I am the worst procrastinator there is so part of the test of this system will be the building of my control journal which this is actually the second time I've started this. I failed out within the first week last time. Control Journal started binder, paper, pretty picture up front and that was about it.
God willing I will have a testimonial of epic proportions that even my Nana would be proud of. Seeing as she spent years trying to get me to clean (LOL) yeah that didn't work out to well.
This blog is a family update about the Qhamata's. Things we are doing, found and would like to share. Enjoy family, friends and others.

Sayings of the Week
I've seen two things this week that made me either think or laugh. Both are religious on was on a Church sign, but applies to all faiths that believe in God. The other was on a truck that refers to the famous phase of WWJD?
1. Sign says: God to far away. Who moved?
This of course was the thinker. Because there are plenty of people that will say God has moved out of their lives or he is out of reach or something along those lines. When really he is still within reach you've just stopped reaching.....
2. Bumper sticker says: Jesus would slap the Sh*t out of you!
Yeah, pretty much speaks for itself. :D

The Great One
This poem (first in years) is dedicated to my Nana.
There was this great woman I knew.
She was faithful honest & true.
She was little in stature, but that didn't matter she'd knock
you down in two.
She was like a mother you see.
Raising all kids cheerfully.
Not having any of her own,
she adopted 13 we've known.
In & out of her house they've come.
To live, to visit or to float.
She never turned away family in need.
She was a mother indeed.
This great woman has since passed away,
but her legacy remains here to stay!
I love you Nana! We miss you.
Yarhamukallaah (May God have mercy upon you)

Report Cards
Report Cards!
Report Cards!
I remember a time way back when (LOL I'm not that old) when I used to be excited to get my report card. There were only a few occasions (few like 2) where I wasn't happy about them because I knew nothing good would come of it for one of the classes that semester. Don't get me wrong I never failed, but my Nana (God rest her soul) had VERY high expectations of me and if I got anything less than a "B" I was in hot water.
So I try to take a little bit of a different approach with my DD#1. Of course this is easy because she is only currently in PreK LOL. However this is her second session PreK because we started her in the second half of the year last year and had to restart her this year to play catch up.
Anyways, we got her report card today. I had spoken with her home teacher earlier this week about what to expect. Seems my D(ear)D(aughter)#1 is playing the song "I don't wanna work" in her head and slacking off. I've traced her sudden down fall to the fact that there is an new member of the family that has stolen some of mommy away. This being said I freaked thinking the worst for my big girls report card and her rear end once daddy got ahold of both the card and her..... So immediately after speaking with the teacher I phone my husband to forewarn him if the impending downward slop.
However after getting the report card today and again speaking with the teacher who tested my DD to get an accurate range of her understanding. All is well. Her grades are pretty much on par with the way they were the first 9 weeks session and she only has a little bit that she needs really work on. Alhamdulilah! All is well. I feel like I'M back in school again stressing over letters (grades).
Repost from MOD blog: March of Dimes Selects North Carolina Girl as Its 65th National Ambassador
March of Dimes Selects North Carolina Girl as Its 65th National Ambassador
Posted by VolunteersSix-year-old Lauren Fleming of Marvin, N.C., who spent the first 5 months of life struggling to survive in a hospital newborn intensive care unit (NICU), today was named the March of Dimes 2011 National Ambassador.
Lauren’s parents, Nikki and Densel, never imagined that their first child would be born 3½ months early and weighing only 2 pounds, 1 ounce. They watched and waited while Lauren was treated in the NICU at Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, N.C., for respiratory distress and underwent multiple surgeries related to a damaged vocal cord and a heart defect. Nikki says, “Not having our baby girl home for the first 5 months of her life was agonizing. We visited her in the hospital every day, but during the night if she needed comfort, I couldn’t just walk down to her room and hold her. Those are 5 months I will never get back.”
Prematurity is the leading cause of newborn death in the United States. More than half a million babies are born prematurely in the United States each year, and those who survive often face lifetime health challenges, such as breathing problems, cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities and others. As a longtime March of Dimes volunteer, Densel knew that as African-Americans, he and Nikki were at 50 percent greater risk of having a premature child.
Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, president of the March of Dimes says, “Infants born to African-American women have the highest prematurity rate of all racial groups. In 2008, the preterm birth rate for non-Hispanic African-American infants was 17.5 percent compared to 11.1 percent among non-Hispanic white infants and 12.3 percent for the nation. We are grateful to the Fleming family for helping the March of Dimes bring attention to this devastating problem.”
Lauren still has some health problems because of her early birth, but her family says she is doing great. She is a warm and loving child who makes friends easily and loves to dance, draw, create storybooks and read. The Flemings are grateful for the March of Dimes research and treatment that helped Lauren beat the odds and helped their other two children, Erin and Corbin, be born healthy.
As National Ambassador, Lauren will travel the country with her family to share her amazing story, help raise awareness of premature birth and encourage families and companies to walk with them in March for Babies® this spring. Densel says, “Knowing that my daughter benefited because I and thousands of other volunteers have been supporting the March of Dimes for years, is an unbelievable feeling. Nikki and I are thrilled now to be able to share our story on a national level and be able to ask others to give back in support of this organization that is working for stronger, healthier babies.”
The March of Dimes National Ambassador Program is an annual campaign, started in 1946, that puts a face on the March of Dimes mission. United Airlines will continue to serve as the official airline sponsor of the March of Dimes National Ambassador Program. United Airlines President and CEO, Jeff Smisek, said, “We are honored to be the official airline sponsor of the National Ambassador Program for the 6th consecutive year. This gives us the opportunity to support a family who has been through so much and is committed to giving back. We look forward to having Lauren and her family fly with United Airlines and we remain committed to fighting premature birth.”
