This poem (first in years) is dedicated to my Nana.
There was this great woman I knew.
She was faithful honest & true.
She was little in stature, but that didn't matter she'd knock
you down in two.
She was like a mother you see.
Raising all kids cheerfully.
Not having any of her own,
she adopted 13 we've known.
In & out of her house they've come.
To live, to visit or to float.
She never turned away family in need.
She was a mother indeed.
This great woman has since passed away,
but her legacy remains here to stay!
I love you Nana! We miss you.
Yarhamukallaah (May God have mercy upon you)
